Are You a Good Candidate for Botox Treatment?

Good candidates are typically looking for a smoother complexion, fewer expression lines and frown lines, or relief from excessive sweating, and must be physically healthy with no related skin conditions or neuromuscular disease diagnosis; additionally they should be at least 18 years old and not pregnant/nursing.
Before your appointment, we’ll need to review a comprehensive record of your medical history. To ensure the best possible treatment outcome, you may be asked to temporarily cease taking anti-inflammatories like NSAIDs as well as Retin-A and tretinoin products in order to avoid adverse reactions; alcohol should also not be consumed prior to the visit either.
What to Expect During and After Your Botox Treatment

Depending on how many areas are being treated, a typical Botox injection may take around 10 minutes. If we are treating multiple areas it may take a little longer.
For those receiving their first treatment with us – rest assured that an experienced professional is administering it; they’ll start at lower doses so its effectiveness can be monitored prior to any subsequent sessions needed down the line.
The procedure itself usually doesn’t involve formal anesthetics which means discomforts such as slight pinches may occur – but these should pass quickly!
Aftercare
Following treatment, you should take care to avoid strenuous activities and touching the area for 3 hours. Additionally, lying down within 4 hours afterwards is not recommended as it could predispose you to a drooping eyelid due to diffusion of Botox into your eye region.
To ensure optimal results are achieved, cosmetic laser treatments or microdermabrasion must be postponed until 10 days after injection has completed.
Mild side effects may include discoloration, and bruising or swelling in the injection area, but will subside shortly afterward with no long-term consequences.
